Curriculum

A. Graduates profile and expected competencies

Graduate Profiles:

Professional Educators in Mechanical Engineering who have high competency in education and a good understanding of science, and able to deliver, develop and apply sciences and technologies in professional jobs.

Competencies:

  1. Able to apply all knowledge and expertise of mechanical engineering in professional work (Scienfitic skill)
  2. Able to apply all educational knowledge in the educational professional work (Education skill)
  3. Possess the integrity, religious, nasionalist, effective communication and entrepreneurial spirit (Social skill)

B. Program Learning Outcomes

By considering input from all stake holders and the minimum requirements set by ASIIN, the PLOs that must be possessed by graduates from the BEME study program are determined as follows:

  1. Possess good personalities and characters (Soft skill)
  2. 1.1. possess integrity, religious character and and spirit of lifelong learning
    1.2. possess a spirit of nationalism, social sensitivity and environmental consevation
    1.3. possess the ability to communicate effectively and work together in teamwork
    1.4. possess a good characters of entrepreneur
  3. Possess a good ability to apply the basic science in profesional jobs (Knowledge and understanding in Science)
  4. 2.1. possess a good understanding and can apply the basic concept of mathematics
    2.2. possess a good understanding and can apply basic the concept of physic
    2.3. possess a good understanding and can apply basic the concept of chemistry
  5. Possess a critical and creative thingking in identifying-formulating, analyzing-problem solving and evaluating various problems using the most appropriate and effective scientific method (Identification, Analysis, and evaluation skill):

  7. Possess a good ability to adapt in science and technology development and apply it into professional jobs (Engineering skill)
  8. 4.1. able to operate various machines and other engineering equipments with the correct standard operating procedure
    4.2. able to perform maintenance of machines and other technical equipment
    4.3. able to formulate and realize ideas/concepts into an engineering drawing, machine design and/or prototype
    4.4. able to innovate and develop technology in the field of mechanical engineering by considering various aspects
  9. Possess a good ability to design, organize and evaluate the education and learning process in mechanical engineering vocational education. (Education skill)
  10. 5.1. possess a good understanding and can apply the basic concept of education
    5.2. able to design curriculum and learning process by considering various aspects
    5.3. able to organize, control, evaluate and improve the quality of the learning process
    5.4. able to develop an interesting, effective and efficient learning medias

Stake Holders Involvement in BEME’s Vision-Missions Development

Curriculum and BEME’s PLO’s are comprehensively developed by considering various inputs and ideas from all interested stakeholders such as users of industry and education graduates, alumni who have worked in their respective fields, professionals and other industry practitioners, all academic staff and researchers in each study program, various study program and expertise associations in their respective fields.
